Is Robin right? Should I assume that the large amount of text in the
comment field is not the cause of the poor SlimServer performance on
every Windows box and network I've tried it on? Is there anyone more
qualified than Robin reading this?
I have now tried four different Unix/Linux distros only to eventually
find that NTFS drives and Unix do not go together. My next move is to
move all 300gb of my music off the Maxtor OneTouch, reformat it with a
Unix file system, move all the music back again and then try PCBSD
again (being the fastest UNIX GUI system I've tried on this 500Mhz,
500gb RAM PIII machine). This might sound simple, but it's not. It
will take me a long time and be highly inconvenient.
I can't express how frustrating this is. All I want to do is listen to
music on my Squeezeboxes. Instead I find myself grappling with a new
OS.
And/Or...........
Is there anyone living in East Sussex, UK (preferaby Brighton or Lewes)
who has a windows network that they reckon their Squeezebox works well
with who will let me come round and plug my MaxtorOneTouch in to see
how the thing runs (yup, this is how desperate I am)?

If anyone can tell me why RedHat seems make the space bar produce two
spaces, I'd be grateful. Writing this post has been painful.
