The bad news about FLAC is: - googling about FLAC on iPhone/iPad doesn't get me any good results The good news about FLAC is: - FLAC (beside mp3) is the most liked format of the SB-Server, so I think it's a good idea to support it natively (also saves a lot of bandwidth compared to PCM streaming). - no license fees for FLAC - sources of the official FLAC decoder are available - I know that FLAC can be compile on ARM architectures (as Squeezeboxes are ARM based) - I'm a developer with passion, searching for adventures ;) Right now (ok right after christmas is over and the family departed again) I'm working on the current bug with authenticated servers and the settings screen. Then I want to improve a particular missing feature about playback (which noone complained about it yet, so I won't tell what it is :D) but right after that trying out FLAC is on my list. I guess in january I'll be able to either present an update - or an announcement that I gave up. To all users out there I'm wishing a very merry christmas now!
