Reminds me of the fun we used to have in my university's test newsgroup. Someone would post "Testing, please ignore" and before you knew it a massive thead had sprung up.
I think you can only delete an article if it hasn't been read. Or maybe if it hasn't been replied to. Failing that, you may only be able to delete it if it's within a certain amount of time since you posted it. Of course, it won't go from the mail lists in any case.
