Never mind .. not sure what happened but somewhere in the last SBS update my AAC+ plugin install was wiped. That's not good behavior for an update, but I figured it out. I had to re-install mplayer and the AAC+ plugin, which I thought was supposed to be included in all new versions of SBS (but apaprently isn't).
