I have a minor networking question. Here's what our home network
looks like:
Wireless Router: Netgear MR814v2
My Machine: RedHat Enterprise Linux 3.0, wireless,
running slimserver.
Wife's Machine: Windows 98, connected to local port on router.
The router has assigned private IP addresses of 192.168.0.1 to itself,
192.168.0.2 to the Windows machine, and 192.168.0.3 to the Linux machine.
The slimserver is working fine; I've cataloged a lot of tracks and
SoftSqueeze is working perfectly on the Linux host.
I can access the slimserver from my web browser on the Linux host as
http://localhost:9000 or as http://192.168.0.3:9000. However, I am not
able to get a connection to the slimserver from the web browser on the
Windows box using http://192.168.0.3:9000.
Is there a service that I need to enable on the Linux machine to allow
the connection? Something in iptables, perhaps?
Our SB2 is scheduled to arrive on Friday.
