I'm not trying to be difficult, but _which_ model SB? It makes a difference whether it's a Touch or a Radio or an SB3/Classic etc. On the Touch, from the Now Playing screen press the "+" button in the upper right corner. Then press More Info and voila, there's the bitrate. I'm pretty sure it's similar on the Radio, except that you use the hardware button on the front panel instead.
