I am also a bit annoyed by this as I am trialling SBS on my PC and
switching regularly between SBS on my NAS and SBS on my PC for one of
my players (I am trying out Triode's Spotify plugin). As the NAS
currently only supports 7.5.1 that is the version I want on the PC as
well.

Unfortunately that means that I, and anyone else using the PC, gets
these continuous messages informing me that there is an upgrade
available.

I find myself internally screaming at the PC
-"I *know* there is an upgrade available, you have nagged me a hundred
times already, and I will upgrade as soon as I can but not right
now!"-

Every other program with an update bubble that I have come across gives
you the option to:
- upgrade now
- postpone the upgrade for a set period of time
- stop any further reminders for this particular upgrade

Logitech need to implement this very sensible protocol for the PC
installation. On the NAS you can turn off reminders in the settings.
