This is a very interesting idea indeed!

Maybe a new 'always ask (party mode)' option for the available setting
and a popup
'Play Now' (= play next + skip)
'Play Next' (= play next)
'Play End' (=play end)

This would give each guest a lot of freedom and fun at the party - and
the worst option 'play' is just not officially available anymore.

I like the idea very much as I guess it's not to difficult to implement
(just some indepth testing, whether it really works).
