Hey Pippin - I saw this update pop up on my iPod Touch this morning and couldn't resist grabbing the update right then and there. When I saw that playback was a separate purchase, of course I had to do that right then and there too :-).
I just played about 1 minute of FLAC on it and it seemed to work great! I'll verify this for myself later, but is the player gapless (I hope so)? If so, is it gapless for all formats? I'm especially interested in FLAC and LAME encoded mp3. Thanks for a great update! I hope you can work through your glitch with the earlier versions of the iPod Touch quickly.
