I am running the latest version of squeezeboxserver Version: 7.5.4 - r32171 @ Thu Apr 14 09:17:01 PDT 2011 under ubuntu 10.10 on my DEll desktop.
Does anybody knows which player (with exact verssion) I can use ( and known to work). I tried Softsqueeze - doesn't work Squeezeslave - same story.
