OK, so I *think* I know what was happening in my case. I'm not absolutely certain on the following, maybe Michael can confirm?
When you first run the app it asks for login and username for mysqueezebox.com. This is fine and easily keyed-in. My problem (and the problem of others) was that the app then asks for the login ID and username for the local squeeze-server even though there wasn't one, and I couldn't get past this stage in any way, other than by using a different laptop. So I got to thinking about what had changed and my conclusion is this. Because I was trying to access a library with exactly the same name, but on a different laptop, the app was trying to connect using the previous settings. As soon as I renamed my library all was ok and it found mysb and no longer asked for the login ID and user name. I suspect that on ANY failure to connect, the app asks for a login ID and username, leading users to think that this is actually needed. Rather, I think it is the pp's default response to a failure to connect... Anyhow, all now works for me under W7 and I'm happy! -- asdti ------------------------------------------------------------------------ asdti's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=38467 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=87212 _______________________________________________ discuss mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
