I recently got a SqueezeBox-Touch (very nice) and I wanted a more visual way to browse my albums (I have quite a lot). So since there was a java api available (thanks to http://code.google.com/p/javaslimserver/source/checkout) I wrote something that I think others might like.
The screen shown is a simple grid of all album art that can be arranged as the user pleases. Right click on an album to queue it or a track (shift-click to play immediately). Newly albums albums appear on a "bottom shelf" and stay there till you drag them onto the main grid. Main grid auto-sizes. I was aiming for something which would be similar to browsing a physical shelf of cds (never liked long lists of artists/genres etc much). You can download the code at https://github.com/scaphe/SqueezeCoverGrid. I've only tried it on Mac and Linux (Ubuntu) so far. Requires java and ant to build. (Known bug: requires a player to be available or will not start). -- scaphe ------------------------------------------------------------------------ scaphe's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=47011 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=88164 _______________________________________________ discuss mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
