Thanks for the DNS tip: I had been having issues with my ISP's DNS, so I pointed my router to Google's DNS 8.8.8.8, 8.8.4.4. Strange that it would then consider Google out of the USA since the WHO IS points to Mountain View, CA.
Anyway, that fixed it.
