I have been using my iPad this last few hours to setup a "Random Mix" of
party music tonight, in fact the party kicked off 30 minutes ago :-)

Total Tracks: 786
Total Albums: 62
Total Artists: 62
Total Genres: 5
Total Party Playing Time: 57:40:09

You can setup the Random Mix by the following :

Song Mix
Album Mix
Artist Mix
Year Mix
Choose Genres

I have set it to "Song Mix" and it is very basic, it just takes the
first album and track 1, then second album, track 2, third album track
3, so yes it is random, but logical random, not all the over the place
random, no matter it is doing the job of a DJ better than me :-)

you can toggle between all the mixes and it works really well, but I
have left it at "Song Mix"

am only on the tenth track in and it takes over 10 or 20 seconds for
the cover art to appear on the iPad, and this is with the iPad 1 metre
away from the Netgear DG834GT router with a super strong signal, so the
fact that is takes so long for artwork to appear does not bode well !

also, a track finishes playing on the speakers, but it is still showing
20 to 30 seconds to go on the iPad, the new track starts playing on the
speakers, but the iPad is way behind refreshing with track info and
cover artwork, this is poor programming, as easy to spot this type of
lag I would have thought at the software quality control stage.

just a little bit of stuttering going on though, only at the beginning
of a track, and only 1 in 10 tunes, but watching it closely tonight

In its defence, all the Tag information is displayable and works super,
these are WAV files as well, so just by clicking on the Artist name
above the artwork gives you all the Album info, and "Show Artwork"
brings you back to the player

"More Info" brings up the track number, file format, Duration,
Bitrate 1411 CBR, Sample Rate 44.1 kHz, Sample Size 16 bits,
Tag Version ID3v2.3.0 and View Tags

"View Tags" brings up APIC,COMM, TALB,TCON, TDRC, TIT2, TPE1, TPE2,
TRCK etc

yep, all seems to be there, well its going to be a long night, but this
will be a stern test for the iPad, the 4 SBR's, the SBS server, and I
cannot say I am very confident, but it does have potential if Logitech
could be bothered to really put it all together one day, maybe !
