>From the available data, very few people on the planet can reliably tell the difference between streamed 320kbs mp3 and flac. Of those, only a very tiny percentage even claim to be able to hear any difference between an SB playing streamed flac or streamed WAV... and their case is not borne out by any available measurement techniques. You are playing these files in mono. That's going to have a much bigger impact on the sound quality than the streaming format in some cases. Just monoing (via cables or SOX) stereo files into mono will seriously mess up some of them (i.e. the ones with out-of-phase l/r components - many tracks from 1967-75 can surprise you). Anyway, enjoy the party!
