I have now downloaded an installed Squeeze Commander for my HTC Desire and so I finally have album art being displayed in the Spotify App.
This was the last major obstacle to me trying to replace the Squeezebox Controller, which is nice but just too fiddly to use. So the next stage is to buy an Android 7" tablet (10" is just too big), which I can hopefully mount in a charging stand next to the hi-fi and have the Squeezebox Commander App loaded to control Spotify.
