>If I set Line In as 'Always On' while connected to my local SB server >then I find that the line in always tends to work regardless of whether >I'm connected to a server or not. Any other setting and it's hit and >miss whether the line in will work while not connected to a server. > I assumed that setting would sample Line In all the time (never turns it off), even when playing music. i.e. don't have to select to play Line In, could have an empty playlist. However, I tried enabling that setting, and the Boom does then seem to work when not connected to a server. It still only plays the line-in signal if I select Line In from the menu.
When connected to a local music source however, the line-in is always passed through to speakers, even when there is no local music currently playing (Now Playing empty). So I disabled the Always On setting, and now everything seems to be working again as expected; only plays line in when the option is selected, even when disconnected from a server. Thanks for the tip. I discovered the problem when I tried to move the Boom too far away from wifi signal. I thought I'd enable line in whilst disconnected, but it didn't work either - not very useful. So now if I want to move Boom somewhere to use as an amp+speakers, I'll have to check it works before moving it, and enable Always On to correct. I'll play some more - perhaps the process of going through Setup, would reset the line in status? If I can find a pattern to the fault, I'll log a bug, but it probably won't get looked at, unless the same fault occurs in Touch too? _______________________________________________ discuss mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
