There are several sections of the code for all skins that has changed. The server uses template toolkit to create full pages. These are cached but the new templates would cause those to be flushed and restarted. After long idle periods, the taks coudl be swapped out and you may experience a lag when starting to use it again. In general use, I haven't personally noticed much change either way.
Anyone else having this slow-down as well? Does album art have an impact on this? just guessing...
It is more information to move around, so there is a cost.
I appreciate the new features of slimserver 6.x, but I hate to have this at the price of dramatically slowing down the web interface.
"Dramatic" seems a bit unfair. In light of that, I do wonder if there is something specific to your setup that is giving you lesser performance. Are certain skins better for you than others? Is it worse for certain tasks than others?
