Getting Logitech Media Server to work under Windows 7 64-bit SP1 LMS on a new computer seems to be a hit and miss affair. I've spent about 10 hours trying every configuration I can think of to get it running. No joy. I've searched everywhere I can think of, and found no solution that I can get to work.
I've tried installing VMware Player, and installing LMS 7.7.1, 7.7.2 and Squeezeboxserver 7.6.2 in a WinXP Pro virtual box, having failed to get any of those packages working in Windows 7 64-bit. Some forum members got things going as in this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=86162 Some apparently didn't. In any event, the solution is not solid or dependable. Help please!! In addition to the above, there is a problem with LMS failing to start on re-boot. None of the above problems is happening with my (i) Win 7 SP1(upgraded from Vista orig) with various "upgrades" of Squeezecentre en route or (ii) my Win XP Pro netbook, or (iii) my Sheevaplug running Debian Squeeze. -- kesey Squeezebox Classic:2; Duet: 1; Boom:1; Touch:1 Server: SheevaPlug Debian Squeeze 4GB SDCard, Squeezepad, iPeng, iPeng for Ipad : "a pint of plain is your only man", Squeezeboxserver/LMS 7.7- latest nightly ------------------------------------------------------------------------ kesey's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=10786 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=92450 _______________________________________________ discuss mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
