Hi Trev, I'm not sure I do understand your problem yet :) When the keyboard opens for a search field, on the right hand side there should be a "Send" button on the keyboard.
So just enter the word and hit 'Send' ? Could you make a screenshot otherwise (hold the power button and the home button of the iPad at the same time.
