What I think is interesting is that they think there is enough of a
market to develop a music-only device for the home. However,
everything that they describe, down to controlling everything with my
Andriod device, is something I can do now. I think this would suffer
the same fate as GoogleTV. It is a bizarre chain of events that now
they are choosing to compete directly with Logitech rather than partner
with them. I'm not so sure I'd be to keen on Google buying the
squeezebox lineup - they are a software company.

Aside from the cute coverflow-like feature of Google's music app for
Andriod, their music app is awful. The playback support in Andriod
doesn't support gapless mp3 playback for FLAC. For this reason, I
installed a 3rd party player (PowerAMP) for playback on my Xoom.

I'll bet a google device for audio would just be more of the same. No
thanks!
