In my circles as well, Sonos is increasingly popular. I think the openness of the slim platform is a big advantage (for instance, I like iPeng better than anything for Sonos, and from what I understand, it's a lot harder for anyone to write controller software for Sonos AND a lot more of the smarts are in the actual Sonos boxes themselves).
