>From your words it sounds as if the iPad was a bad device for books and
text, but in reality I have noone heard complaining about the current
resolution yet (even when reading books or surfing the web). 
Of course all of this will be better with higher resolutions, but for
me personally its good enough already now so that it wouldn't make me
buy a new iPad (if I wasn't a developer required to test with it).

>From my feeling the improvements possible in our own Apps due to the
higher resolution will be marginal at least, but we'll see.
