Here is how my workflow has evolved over the years as far as editing tags: I update the Album, Artist, Genre, Title, Track and Year tags with MP3Tag I delete all other tags with MP3Tag I use Foobar2000 to scan and update tags for ReplayGain I use MusicIP to scan and update the tags for Music IP
