Thanks for the interesting insight into what is going on - I'll try the hack later today. I know the Mac Mini isn't the fastest machine on the market but personally I think any properly spec'd Mac less than 12 months old and still commercially available should be able to run Slimserver with ease! The drive is perfectly adequate for all but the most demanding applications - and Slimserver 6.2 seems to have become one of them... I totally agree that I only see the justification to check the music library stats when you do something to change them.
