So dropouts only occur playing radio - which also means radio stream is direct from station to Radio. This could mean something (e.g. router) is "optimising " network traffic and perhaps reducing bandwidth until it detects something from the player (i.e. volume change).
You should try enabling server "proxy" by enabling for problem player Webui Settuings/Player/Audio/MP3 streaming method to "proxied streaming" although called MP3 I think it affects all direct audio traffic.
