there's a pic here showing how the IR board should sit and connect to
the main board. Just wire it straight across to those three pads.

The problem is that the two sensors I have aren't identical. If I put them the same way, on will +/- be hidden behind the player's case. Let's try some ASCII art (grr... my girlfriend has taken my camera!). I hope you understand what I mean. Here are my two sensors

|---------|
| |
| ... |
| \|/ |
| |O| |
| ooo |
| .. |
| |
|---------|

|---------|
| |
| ... |
| \|/ |
| |O| |
| ooo |
| .. |
| |
|---------|

The ribbon is soldered to the ooo. Which one of these is no. 1?

Unfortunately I think we're all out of the 280x16 displays but
[EMAIL PROTECTED] may be able to help you get yours fixed.

I've contacted Felix of k55 at Zürich. He was kind enough to offer me that first (now broken) update on the occasion of the SB2 launch party. They still have it on their web shop. This would definitely be easier to fix than if I had to buy a soldering iron first :-)

BTW: though there's sound coming from the players, they don't display anything after the boot stage. I see how they connect to the network, but afterwards they go black. Don't they work when there's no IR receiver connected?
