After I'd replaced the mplayer.exe with your suggested version ( followed by a reboot) the stream run for 30 minutes, garbled and then stayed garbled, (isn't garbled a weird word when you say it often enough?)with no signs of recovery. Restarted OK and is still fine after a further 30 minutes. Got to pop out for a while now, but I'll let you know if it's still behaving when I get back in.
