Audirvana allows iTunes to catalog FLAC files and cause them to be played back by Audiovana's backend via creation of proxy files. All it takes is to drag a group of FLAC files into the Add Files to iTunes drop-zone, with the quality setting at the default of "Proxies only, no sound." This is much quicker than actual file re-encoding, and stands as my last vestige of protest, now that we can no longer truly "Free (y)our Music."
