Added in 1.3.0 preview, and relatively simple. The drain is due to preserving the network connection so that the widget remains up to date. There's very little CPU usage associated with it, but the device cannot go to sleep if we want real-time updates of album artwork on your widget screen. There's room for improvement on this though, as when the screen turns off we can accelerate the shutdown process. Right now that's missing.
