Not really a known issue, but that doesn't make it valid. I use it on a N7 all the time. What LMS server version? I'd love to see logs generated when these connection hiccups happen. With a N7 you can use a trick to send a developer report by holding down vol up/vol down/power simultaneously. Android 4.1 made it much harder to get reliable log files from non-rooted devices. You can also use the menu item in preferences to submit logs, but often by the time you navigate there the relevant data is gone. Also, you might try the preview builds if you haven't already.
