We've got a Nyxboard here for our xbmc box. It works very well, but there are issues with it losing connection after a reboot or suspend. I also think it's a bit cumbersome for an audio remote - do you need a full keyboard?
Furthermore - Do you need a remote at all? A headless box would be easier to produce and the likes of Sonos has made smartphone/tablet remote control an accepted norm. If you want a screen, why not use a touchscreen?
