The only password the SB should usually need is your wifi password, and
it seems odd that your ISP would dictate that. But anyway, I think your
options are the following:

1) bite the bullet and change the password

2) borrow or buy another SB remote with all buttons functioning

3) use a JVC-compatible remote

4) use a wired ethernet connection.

Note that for (3) to work, the SB must already be set to accept JVC
remote commands. That could be a problem if you cannot adjust the
setting because the SB3 hasn't been fully set up. In that case what you
may be able to do is set up a wired connection to the SB3 temporarily,
just so that you can change that setting in LMS for the JVC remote.

And whichever solution you find for the password, get the dog some more
appropriate chew toys!
