So I did something obvious tonight that had eluded me before. I simply left my Powerbook onmy Airport Network, and ran an ethernet cable from my laptop to the SB2, no running the SB2 from the cable instead of the network. 100% buffer filling immediately, no dropouts, and I can still use the web interface on the Slimserver. I have no porblem running a cable from my laptop to the SB2,so I guess that's the end of it all.
