I use the slimserver software to stream my mp3 collection over the internet. I use a non-standard port, meaning I change the default listening port from 9000 to, let's say, 9876. After I make this change, I double click on the slimserver tray icon, which opens the internet browser, but the page doesn't load. The url is still http://localhost:9000, and so when I change the url to http://localhost:9876, the page loads without issue. I think the software should be changed to dynamically pull the user's listening port, should the user decide to change it.
