I didn't even know there was a 7.8 beta version -- it's kept well hidden. I managed to find and install it, but it still bombs out: [13-10-18 01:55:07.8310] main::init (355) Starting Logitech Media Server (v7.8.0, 1382017549, Thu Oct 17 20:07:31 PDT 2013) perl 5.018001 [13-10-18 01:55:07.8413] main::changeEffectiveUserAndGroup (971) Warning: Logitech Media Server must not be run as root! Trying user squeezeboxserver instead. [13-10-18 01:55:08.5945] Slim::Music::TitleFormatter::init (42) Warning: Can't locate Slim/Schema/Track.pm: Permission denied at /usr/share/perl5/Slim/Music/TitleFormatter.pm line 42. Mind you, I didn't find this in the logs; I had to invoke squeezeboxserver manually to see these error messages. All I want to do is to play music on my Squeezeboxes just as I've done for years. I really shouldn't have to become a Perl hacker (or keep my system way out of date) just to do that. _______________________________________________ discuss mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
