I thought I'd read that you did the firmware upgrade on the router? If so did you try a full factory reset on the router and then setting it up again from scratch? There may have been some funky artifacts left from the setup under the original firmware. As I'm sure you've guessed from reading the Netgear forum, these routers seem to be a little unpredictable. Work fine for some folks and give others fits. I just thought I'd let you know that it should at least be looked at as a possible source of the problem.
