I agree 100%. And getting back to the OP who mentioned the he/she wanted to "...only add track gain to all files without effecting anything else" I would emphasize that it's best to add track gain _and_ album gain. Better to include album gain now when adding track grain values, rather than making another pass through the library later to add album gain.
