Although not the last statement in HiFi, Sonos do have systems that
connect to your existing amplifiers and speakers, as well as their Bose
equivalent speaker designs.

Like somebody else....Logitech nee SlimDevices....although Sonos
understand marketing and product retail requirements, finally they are
still in business.  No they don't have large numbers of specialist music
choosing applications, but their simplified system does work, and for
many addresses their requirements.
