You might try changing the Orange Squeeze Persistent Connection setting (under Advanced Preferences) to see if that stops the app from restarting itself in the background. Some of us in the past had the opposite issue (app stopped running in the background when we didn't want it to -- so that playback could be paused/muted on a phone call, for instance) and in fixing that the app may be overaggressive.
