yep, old news. The TOUCH was discontinued more than two years ago. And the RADIO or UE RADIO was discontinued more than a year ago (could be two years at this point, I lose track). So for a while now Logitech has been completely out of the networked music player business. They have kept mysqueezebox.com going and there has been some minor upgrades to firmware. The good news is that there is lots of "community" development/improvement of LMS. There's also "ickstream" that can allow SB players to access certain music streaming services, even if (or when) mysqueezebox.com is shut down. And of course there are lots of 3rd party ways to turn micro computers (pi, etc.) into SB playback devices. *Home:* VortexBox 4TB (2.3) > LMS 7.8 > Transporter, Touch, Boom, Radio w/Battery (all ethernet) *Cottage:* VBA 3TB (2.3) > LMS 7.8 > Touch > Benchmark DAC I, Boom, Radio w/Battery (all ethernet except Radio) *Office:* Win7(64) > LMS 7.9 > Squeezelite *Spares:* Touch(3), Radio(3), Boom, SB3, CONTROLLER *Controllers:* iPhone6 & iPadAir2 (iPeng8 & Squeezepad), CONTROLLER, or SqueezePlay 7.8 on Win7(64) laptop *Files:* ripping: dbpoweramp > FLAC; post-rip: mp3tag, PerfectTunes; Streaming: Spotify ------------------------------------------------------------------------ garym's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=17325 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=103564 _______________________________________________ discuss mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
