You need the Pi (make sure to get the latest beefed up version). I've seen special offers for these as low as 15 ukp. Ideally a box/case to put it in (plenty on amazon). A charger (USB) - go for a 2amp or more (so it can power the Pi and a hard disk). And a Mini usb cable. 1 SD memory card - suggest 8gb min, probably best to go for 16gb - to store the OS on. Storage for any local music you might have. I prefer Msata because that is silent and small (no spinning disk, but it's hugely expensive), so maybe just buy a 2.5" hard drive and a USB caddy. or if no local music, then do not bother. if less then 56gb of your own music, buy a 64gb SD card for the operating system and store it on that. Or a USB thumb drive. That's it. Download squeezeplug for pi, install (per instructions), and job done. 1 silent, no bother LMS server. Pop it next to your router in a cupboard and forget.. Squeezeplug has the ability to share the storage networked to windows, so you really never need to go touch it - you can copy music to it and maintain it all from your pc over the network. Mine seem to run for months without any intervention. It's a "music serving appliance." ------------------------------------------------------------------------ yeomanspc's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=249 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=103641
