"you have a very short MP3 file" ..suggests a binary file. How would users create these binary files? How do they add the special tags to tell the Slimserver that they actually point to a file somewhere else? How do "native" players on the PC (like winamp) react when they hit these files?
My suggestion is really just an alternate special use case for the existing playlist functionality with some added comments in the file. Winamp etc. will completely ignore the comments and play the track(s) as if it were a normal playlist file. Thinking futher about the data held in comment fields, it makes sense to use XML. There must already be a parser in place for iTunes. -- oreillymj ------------------------------------------------------------------------ oreillymj's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=699 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=18003 _______________________________________________ Discuss mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/discuss
