Looking for suggestions to upgrade my AudioEngine A2 speakers on the end of an SB Touch and currently situated against the house wall on a unit under a covered terrace to provide music for -al fresco- lunches / dinners etc..
The A2s are good close up but lack scale and guts when you move away or off-axis. Got some A5s which I'll try; also some JBL Control 1s which I can drive with a TP-20 or TP-60 amp for comparison. Just like some "largesse" to the sounds . . . Any thoughts on upgrades? Not looking for anything too large / fussy / expensive. Bring it on . . .
