Once understood rip out the Pulseaudio as it is only a source of audio and replace perhaps with stdin and test using it as a backend to Squeezelite with if necessary a hacked up version of LocalPlayer plugin. Then if that works, sit back and think how to build a proper solution (e.g how to deal with Pause, artwork, metadata).
