Have you considered in-ceiling speakers? In-ceiling speakers provide a lot of advantages: nice spread sound, almost invisible, no visible cabling etc. I've done that in the bedroom and am very happy with the result.
Almost every brand has them in their lineup but I used speakers from Art Sound.
