Has this been resolved. I use a laptop sharing my desktop's music folder and it works fine. Of course you have to allow SlimServer to "log on" to your other computer. Control Panel... Administrative tools... Services... Scroll down to SlimServer and double-click it. Click the Log on tab and enter a login name and password that is valid on the other PC. (By the way, the other machine MUST have a password login, if you don't enter a password you won't be able to share the folder properly).
