Slimdevices and all intellectual property (e.g protocols, schematics) now belong to Logitech. Slimproto was open - it seems anybody could implement a client if they wanted for example Roku M1000/2000 and Softsqueeze. However Roku implementation was flawed/limited, didn't seem to get support from Slimdevices as Roku was alwaysd behind the curve with changes to slimserver ( the April fool pics indicated a clear rivalry) and then DLNA became more popular so Roku basically dropped Slimproto and foucssed on DLNA and then killed off the product line.
