I would be more concerned if the time was counting and there was no audio. The fact that it's just not playing probably means it's not the DAC...that being said, I don't know why you wouldn't have audio from your CD playing, hooked to your Transporter.
If this was happening to me, I think at this point I would reinstall LMS. And even try reinstalling the firmware on the Transporter.
