You're right, of course. I occasionally use Tidal but LMS mostly serves up my 100k+ tracks and Internet radio. I tend to selfishly forget that other people have different needs. Having said that, it seems like there are respected alternatives for those who use the services but still nothing with the amazing cost/value ratio as LMS for local libraries.
